Recreational or competitive, our professional coaches tailor lessons to your needs
Whether your goals are recreational or to take your existing riding skills to new heights, our professional coaches will tailor lessons to meet your needs. We have school horses and ponies on site that will be matched to your ability and goals, and our friendly coaches will work with you to ensure your safety and progress.
We are open Tuesday to Saturday. Gold Coast Equestrian Centre follows the Queensland public school term.
Thinking of learning to ride, or of getting back on? A 30 minute trial lesson is the first step for every new rider.
Trial lessonOne-on-one (or two riders) for 30, 45 or 60 minutes. The best way to kick-start your riding before joining a group.
Private lessonsRide with others at your level for 45 minutes. Children's and adult groups, for members.
Group lessonsFor children 6 to 10: learn to groom and help tack a pony, then ride with a parent leading, all coached by us.
Pony experienceCustomised lessons for NDIS-funded riders and horsemanship programs for all abilities, mounted or unmounted.
Horsemanship programsBeginner and intermediate camps during the Queensland school holidays.
Holiday campsMembers ride every week of the term and pay member prices. Casual riders and visitors book online whenever places are available.
$90 per rider
Mandatory before becoming a member.
$90 group lesson per rider
Group lessons for 3 riders or more ($85 when the term is paid in advance).
$110 private 30 min
For non-members and tourists.
*Member prices apply when a whole term is booked, not to one-off or additional lessons. Lessons booked and paid by the end of the previous term are discounted by $5 each. Private lessons: 20% off for a second rider from the same family in the same lesson.
Please wear long pants and boots every time you are onsite at GCEC. Even if you are not riding, please wear closed-in shoes. For your trail ride or trial lesson, if you don't have boots, sneakers or similar closed shoes will do, and helmets are provided by the school if you are riding.
Plan to arrive 15 minutes before your lesson or appointment, and 30 minutes before a group trail ride.
Please note that bookings are non-refundable and we do not offer rescheduling. There are no cancellations due to bad weather, as we have an undercover arena.
