During the Queensland school holidays we run camps at GCEC for children aged 9 to 17. (Please enquire for very young riders, to see if we have groups their age.)
Our member riders have priority in booking and can secure their spots before camp registration opens to non-members. Bookings are essential.
Camp participants enjoy the whole horse experience, from taking care of your horse and learning how to tack it properly, to all the safety that comes with being around these magnificent animals. Campers also learn theory about horses that they will remember forever!
And of course there is riding (twice a day), pony games and, weather permitting, a swim in the river with their favourite pony! If they are ready, riders can work towards advancing their canter level.
For the purpose of following a specific learn-to-ride program, we only offer these programs during holiday camps. Each offers lots of riding, and horsemanship too: learning to approach, catch, groom and tack a horse safely.
