Horses and ponies for sale

At Gold Coast Equestrian Centre, our horses and ponies are part of our family. Most have come to us through our breeding program, and we have cared for and trained them from foals. We love them and will choose their future home carefully.

When you buy one of our horses or ponies, you can be guaranteed you are getting the best-trained horse or pony your money can buy. Our ponies are broken in by us and trained by qualified professionals to be ridden in the riding school by students from beginner to advanced. There are no hidden stories or injuries. We have sold ponies and horses Australia-wide and overseas, and our name and reputation are trusted.

Our ponies and horses for sale range from $15,000 to POA. Not every horse is advertised: we may sell one that is your perfect match even if it wasn't for sale.

Please email gcequestinfo@gmail.com for enquiries and, if possible, tell us exactly what you are after, with videos of your rider. If you would like to try one of our horses or ponies, we ask you to book a 45 minute private lesson with one of our coaches ($155 when trying one horse), including professional advice during and after your trial.

Bijou

14hh 8-year-old purebred Connemara mare · $20,000 (not negotiable)

A beautiful, stocky buckskin mare, straight from her breeder with a fully known history and the kind, sensible temperament Connemaras are known for. She is ridden in lessons by riders of all levels, including beginners, but she has shown us that riding school life is not what she enjoys most: she is happiest with a lighter workload. When cantering, Bijou can occasionally breathe loudly; she has been thoroughly assessed by vets and chiropractors with no underlying issue found. Ideally suited to trail riding, pleasure riding, a family property, or someone looking for a genuine, kind mare to build a partnership with. Not a distressed sale; serious enquiries only.

Heartwood Tullamore Dew (Trix)

14.3hh 10-year-old Connemara x Thoroughbred mare · $20,000

A beautiful ½ Connemara × ½ Thoroughbred mare, registered with the Connemara Pony Breeders' Society of Australia: an exceptionally hard-to-find type. She had a beautiful foal with us 10 months ago and is progressively returning to work. Loves trail riding, enjoys flatwork, no dirt whatsoever; jumping is not currently her strongest discipline. Trix suffers from Queensland itch, which is why we are looking for a new home: ideally a non-itchy climate, or an experienced home prepared to rug and manage her. She had no skin issues when she lived in Victoria.

Jagger

Purebred Percheron gelding, born 2 August 2025 · $12,000

Registered with the Percheron Horse Breeders Association of Australia. Lovingly handled by us for six months, including groundwork and long-reining; extremely placid, gentle and kind, with beautiful dark grey colouring. He is growing into a very big boy and will simply become too big for our riding school, so this is a very sad sale. Serious enquiries only; we will be very selective about where Jagger goes.

Garnet Xanthea

13.3hh 12-year-old purebred Connemara mare · $30,000

An amazing school horse who now deserves a private home and one person to love her. An amazing jumper who gives everything; she also does our trail rides and lessons with complete beginners and is ridden by petite adults. She has never had any health issues, no skin issues, and is a good doer.

Belcam Cassaole (Cassie)

16.2hh 9-year-old Warmblood mare · $35,000

A very well-bred mare who arrived at GCEC at 18 months and has been trained by us ever since: our daughter's personal horse, sadly for sale while she studies veterinary science in Europe. She teaches novice riders to canter, loves trail rides and water, jumps amazingly and has movement to die for in dressage. Never any health issues. Ideally for an intermediate adult rider wanting to do a bit of everything with a coach; we would be very happy for her to stay and be agisted with us.
